This eight-day, live-aboard flagship course is ideal for you if you are looking to learn how to sail and get ASA captain certification. During this comprehensive, fast-track course, you will learn information and techniques from Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA 101), Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103), Bareboat Cruising (ASA 104), and Cruising Catamaran (ASA 114). At the end of your training, you
will receive an official ASA certification so you can enjoy catamaran cruising anytime.

Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA 101): Learn to skipper a 20’-27’ sloop-rigged keelboat by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. You will also learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship, and safety, including basic navigation rules.

 

Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103): Build upon your basic keelboat sailing skills to skipper a larger vessel by day in moderate winds and sea conditions. You will also learn cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety, and seamanship.

 

Bareboat Cruising (ASA 104): Take your sailing skills to a new level and learn to proficiently handle multi-day cruising upon inland/coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds and sea conditions. You will also learn about provisioning, boat systems, auxiliary engines, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation, anchoring/mooring, docking, emergency operations, and weather.

 

Cruising Catamaran (ASA 114): Learn to skipper an auxiliary-powered, 30-45 foot sailing cruising catamaran during a multi-day liveaboard cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots, or 34 mph) and sea conditions.

This six-day intermediate course is ideal for you if you have finished your ASA 101 basic sailing requirements, are ready for more in-depth instruction, and are looking to get ASA captain certification. You will continue your sailing education with live-aboard instruction in Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103), Bareboat Cruising (ASA 104), and Cruising Catamaran (ASA 114). At the end of your training, you will receive official ASA certifications so you can enjoy catamaran cruising anytime.
